On our public tours, our staff certainly appreciate receiving gratuities especially if you find that you enjoyed your time with us! We recommend the typical 20% per person.
If you have booked a private tour with us, in most cases gratuity is included which will be given to our driver and guide.

There are typically three (3) stops on our tours. Sometimes our pick-up location is part of the tour, sometimes it’s not. Please check our Tours page for more information regarding specifics.

No way! We try to mix things up, which allows us to visit more of the many producers in Maine – and it also means that if you decide to come on a second tour, you have the opportunity to have a new experience. But don’t worry – all the locations we visit are unique and delicious. We’ve taste-tested them all!
-
Unfortunately, we are not wheelchair accessible at this time.
-
That depends on the tour, but generally will be between 3 and 5 hours in duration. Times are listed for each tour on our Tours page.

Great question! Short answer…no.
On our tour, you are going to be given the opportunity to sample various alcohol products. Most of our guests find the amount of alcohol supplied during the tour to be more than sufficient.
Having one drink before the tour is one thing, but having multiple drinks and then expecting to be served even more during the tour is not responsible and will not be tolerated. Each of our partners maintains on-premise alcohol licenses, much like a bar or restaurant, and they will not put themselves to overserve alcohol to any guests.
If you or members of your party are checking in for the tour and it is deemed by our staff that individual(s) are visibly intoxicated, those guests will not be able to board the bus for the tour at all. This is to protect the other tour guests, as well as the relationships we have with our partners.
During the tour, if you are intoxicated and it is determined by our staff or our partners that you need to be cut off, that decision will not be reversed at subsequent stops.
We reserve the right to remove you fully from the tour and provide you an alternate and safe way for you to return back to your home or lodging location.
-
If you have provided us with a contact number, we will try to call you at least a few minutes before we leave. Because we are dealing with so many different businesses and moving parts, though, we simply cannot leave any later than the departure time listed for each tour. We therefore strongly suggest that you plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure.
-
No. We do not allow guests to meet us partway through our tours. It wouldn’t be fair to you or to other guests on the tour, as we pride ourselves on the flow of our tours and the full experience we provide.
-
There are no tasting fees for the samples you will receive at each stop, as we have already covered samples in our all-inclusive ticket price. If you don’t want to, you won’t have to open your wallet at all after showing us your I.D. to start the tour.
That said, all of the locations we visit will have retail operations of some kind. Beyond the samples we cover for you, please feel free to support our local businesses by purchasing some additional samples (if time permits) or taking merchandise or beverages home with you. Many items found along the way cannot be purchased elsewhere, and we have coolers on the buses for cold storage!
-
Yes! ALL I.D.s will be checked at least once by Maine Brews Cruise staff, and there is a chance your I.D. will be checked at other establishments we visit as well.
-
Unfortunately, no one under the age of 21 is allowed on our tours. This includes newborn babies, infants, toddlers, tweens, young adults, teenagers, and those that are exactly 20 years of age.
-
Generally, no.
We love all kinds of pets, but only service animals are allowed on the bus and on our tours.
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability, and the dog must be trained to take a specific action when needed to assist the person with a disability.

All of our tours are open for sale to the public unless they have been booked as a private tour. Each type of tour has minimum guests needed to operate, these are stated on each tour description page.
The composition of who is on the tour along with you could be different types of groups including singles, couples, and larger groups.
Occasionally, the larger groups might be holding a birthday party or another type of celebration. Quite often we do not know the nature of why groups have booked tours with us, so we are unable to communicate this ahead of time.
-
No open alcohol containers are allowed on our tours unless they are on board boats where that is permitted. If you decide to open an alcoholic beverage, you will be asked to leave the tour. We do have storage available on our buses for any purchases for later consumption that you make along the tour.
-
Absolutely. Water is available at each of our stops, and we encourage our guests to bring a reusable water container on the tour with them. On our bus-based tours, water is available to each guest throughout each tour.
-
We operate rain, shine, and snow as long as the roads are safe and we have met our minimum to run the tour.
All ticket sales are final. Tours cannot be exchanged, rescheduled, or refunded.
We do offer ticket insurance which allows you to cancel or reschedule your tour with at least 24 hours’ notice, and we will reschedule or reimburse you for your full tour ticket price (minus ticketing fee and insurance fee).
-
Not likely, but possible. In the event of severe weather or a lack of guests, the tour may be canceled. We don’t plan on canceling tours but weather and other issues may occur that will prohibit us from running a specific tour.
If there are fewer spots booked than the minimums that are required, the tour may be subject to cancellation (so bring all of your friends)! If this occurs, you will be refunded your full purchase price or given a credit for a future tour.
-
We do not have any sort of strict dress code on the Brew Bus but we do require shirts, pants, and shoes! We do ask that you have sensible closed-toe shoes on, as we will be walking around functioning breweries.
-
As we are often accessing production spaces that contain heavy items, caustic chemicals and significant volumes of contents under pressure, we must require that all participants wear closed-toe shoes.
Unfortunately, this will prohibit the wearing of flip-flops, sandals, and other types of shoes that provide no protection for potential toe injuries.
People in your party that do not adhere to this policy may not be permitted to tour production areas at our stops.
